Lexicon of Common PtB Terms
Cortege': A group of dissimilar powers brought together by fate of some kind, usually at the beginning of their journey into the world of powers. There is usually something that binds them and some benefit they all receive from the connection, but the exact nature of either varies wildly from group to group. Though many, if not most, in the empowered community understand this link as being at least as important as any other connection even family or the various orders, courts, etc.
Kachina- an old Hopi word for all types of the Empowered, sometimes co-opted by the Empowered community in general as a clear word to collectively talk about their kind that is less confusing than the term Empowered, which has other meanings.
Vicinage (also called Purlieus or Propiquus): A community in the first fold of the world comprised of empowered and initiated, sometimes with no uninitiated at all. Usually they have infiltrated the local police and such to maintain secrecy and autonomic control. Some are big enough for their own police precinct, hospital, and such. Most also have safeguards, such as glamours to conceal any flare ups.
