Soma: The drink of the gods. It is basically pure magical energy in liquid form. It can return essentia and temporarily increase power. Divine based Empowered (Godlings and some others) can decide to hold back on the power increase, but for others it is a bit too much to properly control at times.

 

Ambrosia: The food of the gods. It is basically pure magical energy in solid form. It can revitalize both health and essentia, but tends to have side effects. The most common effect is to anchor the person if they eat it in the divine place associated with it, usually one of the Wrinkles of the 3rd fold.
