2B: Movement

Figure Movement: When tracking movement with miniatures, as recommended, the system is designed to use a tape measure and ruler. In an unholy alliance of two measurement systems one half of a centimeter is the equivalent of 1 scale foot. Though it is understandable if the players and/ or Narrator want to go for the simpler standard method of 1 inch equaling 5ft.

Dedicated Movement: When using a dedicated action for movement the character moves at such speeds that agility checks are more difficult, usually doubled. The narrator may even require agility checks for obstacles and such that normally wouldn’t require it.

Agility Checks for Movement: Often movement through difficult terrain or such can cause the character to have to make a check to avoid a negative affect like falling down or such. Buying points in the appropriate skills (like Balance, Jump, and Tumble) may help with this. On such occasions where the character is avoiding objects a Dodge resist will be called for. In general the faster the character moves the more difficult such checks will be. The character can reduce their speed, carefully taking their time, to possibly remove any need for such checks.

Specific movement types are gone into more detail in the Aptitude- Movement section, though checks can generally be made without having the actual aptitude.
